Traced back thousands of years, Aboriginal art is the world’s newest contemporary art movement. Before artists painted on canvases, they created artworks on bark, on their bodies for ceremonial purposes or in the sand using different coloured natural materials.

Unlike non-indigenous artists, Aboriginal artists tend to paint a limited number of subjects, using a fairly restricted variation in style. This makes it quite easy to identify the works of a particular artist based on the cultural guidelines within which they paint particular “Dreamings” and stories. Composition, colour choice and brush size  may differ but there is a very strong signature in the way an Aboriginal artist’s subject matter is conveyed stylistically.

Browse through the gallery to view paintings representative of the artplacement collection. Once you have identified particular artist, style, colour and size preferences, we will be pleased to put together a proposal of suitable works specific to your interior requirements.
